Quilts
We have batting available or provide your own. We use Cotton or Polyester Batting. If you should supply your own make sure that it is at least 6 inches larger than your top in both directions. Our batting is 108 or 120 inches wide.
Backing fabric is available in muslin, tea dye or white. If you wish to have a patterned or colored back, please provide your own and again make it at least 6 inches larger than top in both directions. Backing fabric is available in 108 inches. If you should provide your own backing and it is pieced, please make your seams ¾ inch wide and press open. If you want us to make the seams there will be a $10.00 charge per seam.
We use Signature and Superior Threads – our favorite is King Tut in either solid color or variegated. We carry quite a large variety and will try the match your quilt color.
We will trim your finished quilt for you if you desire, so that it is ready for binding. We do provide binding service if you wish. We can machine onto the front only or also hand stitch on the back. We do not machine stitch the back
We would like you to make sure that your quilt top is pressed and free of loose threads. We would like the top to be square, but we know accidents do happen – try your best. Double check your seams to make sure all are secure.
We definitely appreciate square, straight tops which are clean and pleasant smelling.
If you mail or U.P.S. your top to us, we will call you and discuss what you want. We will also call you when we are finished with your quilt. If you cannot pick up your quilt personally, we will U.P.S. your quilt to you and add the cost of shipping to your bill. You will pay us with your return mail check. We do not require payment until you have the finished product, but do appreciate your prompt payment.
